My husband and I love to get outside. What we love even more is taking Bethany with us! Our sweet girl turned one year old last month and it’s just getting more exciting with her!

Note: The UV rays are strongest between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. A baby’s skin is very sensitive to sunlight and it’s important to keep them out of the sun. A little bit of sun won’t hurt, but I recommend a sunhat and putting some sunscreen on your baby if you know they will be in the sun.
We’ve taken Bethany hiking for a long time now. Theres really nothing better for a baby than be with mom and dad, breathing fresh air, and enjoying nature. My husband carries Bethany in a front facing baby carrier, while I carry the diaper bag. We got this jeep baby carrier as a gift, but I have another one from Amazon.
- Blow Bubbles
Babies love bubbles. There’s nothing like going outside to blow some bubbles.
- Play in the Water
Babies also love water! If it’s warm enough outside, I recommend this fun activity. We found this splash pad for $10 at Tuesday Morning and it was perfect for her to splash around in. You can easily use a bus tub and bath toys too!
- Go Camping
You can take your one year old camping! Here’s some tips on how we did it.
- Play at the Playground
Even if your one year old isn’t walking yet, you can still easily put them in a baby swing or take them down a small slide. They will love it!
