My Everyday Routine with a 15 Month Old

Having a consistent routine is beneficial for you and your baby. When you have a routine, it’s easier to plan healthy snacks, meals, exercise, and things you enjoy. When you plan, you can effectively use your time well and decrease your stress level.

Note: Not everyday goes as planned and that’s okay! It’s important to be thankful for what’s going well and work to improve what isn’t.

I wanted to share my everyday routine as a wife and mom of our 15 month old baby, Bethany. We use a block schedule and it differs on the weekend. However, nap time and bedtime is the same everyday.

5:30-6:30 a.m.: Wake Up!

I’m a morning person, so I enjoy waking up early. I wake up at 5:30 a.m. to read my Bible and drink some tea. After Bible reading, I stretch or exercise.

After exercising, I get ready for the day, make our bed, and pack a lunch for Brandon.

I love quick and easy dinners and if there’s anything I can get done in the morning, I do. Whether it’s soup in the crock pot or Instant Pot and/or chop meat or vegetables. Some easy meals to prep (or complete) in the morning are:

If I don’t have anything to prep, I spend some time working on my to-do list and cleaning up the house.

At 11 a.m., Bethany and I eat lunch and, if we’re home, watch Sesame Street. I’ve never been a fan of T.V., but Bethany loves Elmo, so I let her watch it. After lunch, I clean up and we play, read a book, and settle down for a nap.

12:30-3:30p.m.: Nap Time!

This is a larger part of the day where I can complete anything I need to finish that day. While Bethany is sleeping, I can work on blogging, organizing, cleaning, or any hobby I’m enjoying at home. Sometimes I even take a much needed nap.

This is our time to relax and reconnect with each other. We do this by talking, praying, playing a game, reading a book, or watching a show while cuddling up on the couch together. Sometimes we go to bed early, but always together. We have found that making sure we go to bed together has really deepened our relationship!
